S3 Holiday Charity Challenge
Four members of S3 chose Colin's Hope for
their companies 2009 Charity Challenge. S3
has donated $350.00 to Colin's Hope to sponsor swim lessons for underserved children
and will donate an

additional $1,000.00 to the charity of the team which raises the most amount of
money for their charity and is voted as making the most beneficial impact in their
community.

COLIN’S HOPE KID’S TRIATHLON
We would like to thank all the parents, athletes, and volunteers who participated
in the 2009 Inaugural Colin's Hope Kid's Triathlon.

The Facts
● In 2005, there were 3,582 fatal unintentional drownings in the United States, averaging ten deaths per day.
● In 2005, of all children 1 to 4 years old who died, almost 30%
died from drowning. Fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1 to 14 years
● For every child who dies from drowning, another four received
emergency department care for nonfatal submersion injuries.
● 19% of drowning deaths involving children occur in public pools with certified lifeguards present
