Overview
Drowning is preventable, but it remains the number one cause of
unintentional death for children under the age of 5. Come join us on Sunday,
April 25th, when we will be holding the 1st annual Colin's Hope Water Safety
Walk where our goal is to increase water safety awareness by having 200
volunteers distribute 5,000 water safety packets
door to door throughout Austin and the surrounding areas. The water safety
packets will contain water guardian badges, lifeguard whistles, as well as CPR
and drowning prevention information. The Colin's Hope Water Safety Walk is
based on a
similiar walk held in Mesa, Arizona which is accredited to helping
reduce the number of drownings in that area by half!

Volunteer
Drowning is preventable. By volunteering a few hours of your time you
will be playing a critical role
in helping save a childs life. No preparation or experience is needed for
the Colin's Hope Water Safety Walk and
volunteers will simply be hand delivering water safety packets door to door at targeted locations throughout Austin and
the surrounding areas. Volunteers are asked to arrive between 10am and
1pm at our meeting location where they will be placed in small groups, given
their water safety packets, distribution maps, and final instructions.
This is a kid friendly event and we welcome individual and group volunteers
alike. Bring yourself, family, church group, Boy Scout or Girl Scout
group, or whomever you would like to participate with you.
Please help us finalize our planning by volunteering for this event
ahead of time. We have a strict privacy policy and
your personal information will only be used for our planning purposes and to
notify you of any event updates.
