Colin's Hope and ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Matt Merrell have teamed up to race against the odds and prevent child drownings

Matt Merrell is 23 years old from Portland, Texas where he graduated from high school as a student athlete.  Matt has been racing successfully for four years starting with dwarfs, moving to asphalt modifieds and super late models.  In the Texas Dwarf Car Association, Matt won Rookie of the Year honors, South Points Championship and the State Points Championship.  In the 2005 Texas Asphalt Modified Series, Matt earned Rookie of the Year, tied for the most wins (3) and finished 4th in the Championship.  In 2006, Matt ran the 2006 USRA Super Late Model Series, with two wins and Rookie of the Year award.

In 2009 Matt will be competing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series where he will continue his transition into the professional ranks of motorsports.  Join us as we watch Matt race to the finish line and drive water safety awareness into the minds of thousands of fans everywhere.
